Humanitarian Organization of Latin American Students (H.O.L.A.S)

The Humanitarian Organization of Latin American Students, or HOLAS, is Carleton’s home for Latin American and Caribbean students on campus. Founded in 2007, we are the largest group of our kind in Canada’s Capital. We aim to share and celebrate “la cultura,” or our culture, amongst the greater Ottawa community through fun events, cultural iniatives, humanitarian work. We are known for our humanitarian projects, such as Locura Latina or our Latin bake sale, where we run fun events for you to enjoy with all the proceeds going to charities and people in need back in Latin America. Whether you’re of Latin American/Carribean descent and are looking for a community, want to practice your Spanish or Portuguese language skills, are interested in learning about new cultures and practices, or just really love Latin dance; HOLAS is here to welcome you with open arms.
