Her Campus at Carleton is Carleton University’s platinum-level chapter of the #1 online college magazine, Her Campus Media. It’s a platform for people of all gender identities to gain writing and portfolio experience, get their work published, and participate in fun events! We publish articles related to any topic you choose, ranging from lifestyle pieces, fashion advice, personal essays, entertainment articles, culture pieces, and more! Anyone who is interested in writing is welcome to join.

Hillel Ottawa’s mission is to enrich the lives of Jewish students so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world. 

HUgS is for Carleton University students who are History majors/minors or just love history! It’s a social group for those who are enthusiastic about history and want to talk and mingle with other like-minded history buffs. Regular “HUgS and Tea” events for laid back evenings allow you the opportunity to discuss your essays and class work and your historical interests in general with our HUgS executives, professors, and fellow history fanatics.

The Humanitarian Organization of Latin American Students, or HOLAS, is Carleton’s home for Latin American and Caribbean students on campus. Founded in 2007, we are the largest group of our kind in Canada’s Capital. We aim to share and celebrate “la cultura,” or our culture, amongst the greater Ottawa community through fun events, cultural iniatives, humanitarian work. We are known for our humanitarian projects, such as Locura Latina or our Latin bake sale, where we run fun events for you to enjoy with all the proceeds going to charities and people in need back in Latin America. Whether you’re of Latin American/Carribean descent and are looking for a community, want to practice your Spanish or Portuguese language skills, are interested in learning about new cultures and practices, or just really love Latin dance; HOLAS is here to welcome you with open arms. We all smile in the same language!

IEEE is short for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, but in reality IEEE is heavily involved with all aspects of engineering. The Carleton University Student Branch provides many services which you will find beneficial such as workshops, technical presentations, career networking events, and more. Some of our stand-out events include SPAC (Student Professional Awareness Conference), WIE (Women in Engineering) Wine and Cheese, and SLAM (Stay Late And Make) workshops. You are not only invited to attend these events, but you can also help us organize them and show prospective employers that you have what it takes to succeed.

Intervarsity Christian Fellowship is a club composed of Christian Carleton students that are willing to learn more about the bible and fellowship with one another. 

Islamic Relief CU is a charitable organization that operates in Canada and helps the global Islamic Relief Worldwide network. It is a humanitarian organization dedicated to providing aid and support to those in need, regardless of their race, religion, or nationality. Islamic Relief CU focuses on various areas of humanitarian work, including emergency relief, sustainable development, education, and healthcare.

We aim to provide relief through raising awareness and involving students in productive and educational events on campus. We have fun events such as sports tournaments, different food sales, and movie nights that involve the campus body and create change at the same time.

The Journalism Society of Carleton is an academic organization that strives to bring students of the Journalism program together through academic and social events. It also strives to support students during stressful times through our mentorship program for first-years and mental health week.

Landscape Lab is a student led club focused on the exploration and promotion of landscape design theory and practice, and its intersections with architecture, ecology, and environmental sustainability.
