Carleton University Japanese Association

CUJA was started in 2008-2009 and has been in active continuance since then as a social and cultural club. The aim of CUJA is to create a social environment for Japanese speakers and enthusiasts as well as Japanese International students to mingle and socialize in a controlled environment/safe space maintained by CUJA executives, along the guidelines outlined in our constitution and by CUSA. While running CUJA is an important job, please remember that you are a student first, and running the club should not come at a hindrance to your education, which is one of the reasons for this guide. With that being said, it can be a fun and rewarding activity overall, as well as a great way to meet new people and demonstrate leadership skills.
